Westlake, OH to Conneaut, OH: 100 miles

Downtown Cleveland:

We made a bad guess on our route into downtown, and found ourselves dead-ended at the Cuyahoga River as the American Republic passed.

Carl wails out an air guitar solo at the Rock Hall.

...with the USS Cod, a surprise find adjacent to the Rock Hall.

and right next to the Cod, Burke Lakefront Airport with this celebration of airshows – thereÕs another Phantom II in Blue Angels livery to CarlÕs left.

Apparently, the Seattle Mariners were in town to play the Indians.

Mentor, OH:

The van caught up with us when Carl flatted. The other side of the sign advertised the essentials: Òbait – beer – cigsÓ

Between Mentor and Grand River – Jordan Drive:

The area east of Cleveland had gotten walloped by storms on Thursday evening (we followed them on our ride from Napoleon to Westlake) that left many flooded areas. The bike route ÒendÓ sign seemed particularly apt. We were able to portage ourselves through the water and continue our ride.
